Delivery Challan Format under GST

A delivery challan accompanies goods that move without a tax invoice, for example goods sent for job work, on approval, or between your own branches. InstaInvoice creates challans in the GST format, with or without prices, and links them to the sales order.

Frequently asked questions

Is GST charged on a delivery challan?

A delivery challan is not a tax invoice, so GST is not charged on it. Tax details are shown where the rules require, and GST is charged when the sale is invoiced.

Can a delivery challan be issued without prices?

Yes. For job work or stock transfers you can hide the rates; the challan still shows the goods and quantities.

Do I need an e-way bill with a delivery challan?

Often yes, when the value of the goods exceeds the e-way bill limit, even if they are not being sold.

How many copies of a delivery challan are needed?

Three: original for the consignee, duplicate for the transporter and triplicate for the consigner.
